Devices
From the Devices page, you can add a single device and register it to a site with a profile, and configure individual devices. This page also provides a detailed overview of all currently registered devices with additional information, including connectivity and operation status, and general settings such as firmware version and license status.
Device Overview
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, enter a keyword in the search field or click the Search field drop-down menu and specify the criteria to search for a device: Device name, Status, and Site tag. Select the time frame to further define the connectivity period for display.

- To customize the properties of the table listing, click
. - The results will reflect in the refined table listing. You can download the table listing as a single file in CSV format by clicking the download button. In the connectivity bar, red means disconnection to the Internet while green means connected status to the Internet.
Adding Devices
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- Click Add device.

- Fill out the required information.

Device UID |
Enter the device’s UID found on the label printed on the device. The UID may be listed in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX or XXXXXXXXXXXX. When entering the UID, do not include dashes. |

Device Name |
Enter a name for the device. |
|
Site |
Select a Site to link this device to. |
|
Profile |
Select a Profile for this device. The device will use the settings configured in that profile. |

Add More Licenses |
Enter the device license key. Note: Every new device should have a valid license key. Once expired, an additional license must be purchased to continue using the device. |
- Click Save.
Editing a Device
Editing the Device Name
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- In the Device Information section, click the device name in the Device Name field. You will be navigated to the Monitor > Gateway > Device page when you select a device from this list.
- Enter a new name and press Enter or click outside of the field.
- Click Save.
Changing the Device Site and Profile
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- In the Site and Profile section, select a Site from the drop-down menu.
- In the Site and Profile section, select a Profile from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save.
Configuring the Local Device Network Settings
Under normal circumstances, devices will use the network settings of the Profile they are assigned to. If necessary, you can configure individual devices using local settings which override the Profile settings. This may be useful in instances where a device requires customized settings to accommodate a specific use.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Click the Network tab.
- In the Use profile configuration field, select disable.
Note: Local settings are configured identically to Profile settings. Refer to Profiles of Configure - Gateway for more information on how to configure each section. After you have finished all configuration , click Apply at the left top to apply the changes immediately to the affected device.
Configuring the Local Device Security Settings
Under normal circumstances, devices will use the firewall and other related security settings of the Profile they are assigned to. If necessary, you can configure individual devices using local settings which override the Profile settings. This may be useful in instances where a device requires customized settings to accommodate a specific use.
Note: Changing the Routing mode from Network Address Translation (NAT) to Router (go to Network > Addressing), the Use Profile configuration option for Security's Firewall settings would be disabled. Moreover, the configured rules of Port forwarding, Port triggering, and 1:1 NAT would be erased.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Click the Security tab.
- In the Use profile configuration field, select disable.

Configuring the Local Device VPN Connections
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) builds an encrypted connection between endpoints over a public network utilizing tunneling techniques. VPN can be configured only if your device supports this feature.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Click the VPN tab in the top-right of the screen.
For more details about the configuration settings, refer to VPN Settings in Monitor-Gateway. After you have finished all configuration , click Apply at the left top to apply the changes immediately to the affected device.
Troubleshooting Connectivity of a Device
You can perform Ping test, Traceroute test, obtain WAN throughput and Reboot device. You can also blink the LEDs on the device for diagnostic purposes remotely.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Select the Tools tab in the top-right of the screen.

Adding a License Key to a Device
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Click the License tab in the top-right of the screen.
- In the License Table section, click Add License.
- Enter a valid license key.
- Click Save.
Deleting a License Key from a Device
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the device name link.
- Click the License tab in the top-right of the screen.
- In the License Table section, from the license key list, click Delete under the Actions column of the license key you wish to delete.
- When prompted to confirm, click Yes.
Note: Removing a license key from a device will reclassify it as Unused in the license management inventory.
Deleting Devices
Assigned devices can be unassigned so they can be reassigned at a later point in the device inventory.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the checkbox next to the device you wish to delete.
- Click Delete.
- You will be asked whether you would like to delete the device permanently or move it to the Inventory.
The device list can be exported in a CSV-formatted file and download to a local device.
- Navigate to Configure > Gateway > Devices.
- From the device list, click the Download icon in the top-right.
