License Co-termination

License co-termination eases license management by terminating all licenses of the participating devices on the same date regardless of their original expiration date.

Note:  The operation of license co-termination is irreversible, and the original license cannot be recovered.

Devices from the same Organization that can participate for Co-termination include devices with active licenses and expired licenses. Licenses from the same organization that can be used for co-termination include active and inactive licenses bound on devices and unused active licenses (but not the unused inactive licenses). Moreover, the Co-termination formula is a weighted average calculated by multiplying the remaining days by the device weight and dividing the sum by the total weights of all devices.

To co-terminate licenses:

  1. Navigate to Settings > License Management.
  2. Select the Co-Termination tab from the top menu.
  3. Click Calculate License State. The estimated Expiration date and the remaining number of days until expiration will be displayed.
  4. [Optional] Click the License co-termination instructions link to learn the principles of the license co-termination calculation.
  5. Click License co-terminate at the bottom to proceed with the process.
  6. A window will appear to display important notice about the operation. Note that the operation cannot be reversed, and the original license would be terminated and replaced by the new license keys with the co-termination date.
  7. After reading the notice, click I understand the terms and still wish to proceed. Then click Confirm.
  8. You should receive a notification email once the licensing co-termination has been applied.
