Why is my camera not streaming?
Multiple factors affect the quality of data streaming such as connection difficulties. To troubleshoot problems with the video stream, please check for the following conditions:
-
Signal interference: Environments with overlapping Wi-Fi networks and wireless devices that use mixed frequencies can cause signal interference with your camera. Optimize your environment by reducing the number of Wi-Fi networks and wireless devices in the area where you place your camera.
-
Camera out of range: Make sure that your camera is within the coverage of your Wi-Fi network. The wireless network’s range may be limited by the number, thickness and location of walls or ceilings, or other objects between the wireless AP and the camera.
-
Signal strength: Before you place your camera, make sure that your camera has good signal strength in the area. Your camera can work when signal strength is poor, but it might go out of range intermittently due to signal fluctuations in the environment.
-
Data Saver: Live streaming transmits high volumes of data. However, Data Saver restricts the amount of data to be transmitted, which in turn has an impact on the performance of live view with the mydlink app. This is because it needs more time to load live video feeds. We recommend turning off Data Saver on your mobile device to have a better streaming experience.
